Privacy

Intro

My name is Ian Griffee and I began the ‘Licence to Drive’ driving school in April 2012, I am the sole proprietor and am the only instructor.

This privacy policy explains what, why and how I keep personal information on past and current students.

Where Stored

All student information is kept on a password protected Electronic storage system that only I have access to.

What Information?

I collect information on students that begins with the details from your driving licence, this information includes your name, D.O.B. licence number, address and expiry date of the licence.

I also ask for any information medically, emotionally or academically that may have an affect on your learning to drive that it would be useful / necessary for me to know.

I ask for contact details for the student and also a family member, relative or partner should I need to contact them in the event of an emergency.

Contact numbers are stored on my iphone (password protected) and backed up on the electronic system mentioned previously.

Financial

I maintain records of payment against each individual student, these include when and the amount of payment made. If payment has been made by BACS or Paypal then this information (i.e.account numbers) is only accessible through my chosen banks website and is not stored elsewhere.

It is recommended by HMRC for legal reasons that financial records are maintained for the previous six years.

Lessons

I record the date and duration of each lesson, along with the number of lessons to date and any ongoing credit. I also maintain progress records to show driving development.

Student information is entirely confidential, securely stored and is not shared with any other organisation or third party.
